Background
Gina Deerness-Plesner was educated at the University of Canterbury from 2002-2008, where she completed a BA in Political Science and History and a post-graduate BA (Hons) in Diplomacy and International Relations. She has been conducting research at the NCRE since 2005 and between 2006-2008 Gina worked towards her MA by thesis in European Union Studies, focusing specifically on New Zealand-EU relations in the field of science and technology. Gina Deerness-Plesner joined the NCRE as a staff member in November 2008, upon her appointment as FRENZ Research Coordinator (2009-2011).
